He never leaves and never forsakes

November 4, 2008

Remember how God said that though you walk through the valley of the shadow of death He is with you? What is the shadow of death?

Death is the name of your enemy and where he is, he casts his shadow. There are times when you pass through his shadow, when he tries to accomplish his will in your life, yet Jesus is with you. He will never leave you nor forsake you. He will never leave you high and dry. He will never abandon you. The deep fear that you have is not that someone in your life will abandon you, but that God will abandon you. If you have this fear buried deep in your heart and mind, you may be believing that when the going gets tough, as it may be now, then He will abandon you to your own devices.

The truth is that He will never leave you. When you have felt abandoned and bereft it is not that He has left you. It is because you have stopped trusting Him. When you lean on your own understanding, He is not free to work in your life. You stop relying on Him and lean on your own knowledge and abilites.

You cannot succeed this way. When you belong to Him you are His – bought with a price. He paid a high price to make you his own. You do not have to rely on yourself and your own abilites. You do not need outside advisors. You do not need training and lessons and thoughts and ideas from other people. What He has to give you is so much more than all af those people put together. If you take all the time you spend reading books and websites and going to meetings and seeking more training and used that time to seek God’s face and hear His voice and follow His leading, He will make you more successful that you ever dreamed possible.

Love and lusciousness,

Wendy
